I want to wake up in the morning, go to my mirror and see a beautiful face staring back at me!

Nice and fresh, smooth hair, vibrant skin, clear eyes, the face of someone who just had a real beauty sleep…
The face of someone who is refreshed, renovated, ready for the day, sparky, radiant, beautiful!

I want to wake up looking beautiful!
(And I know I am not the only one…)

Swollen face, go away!

Why do we have to wake up with such a swollen face?
What’s up with the swollen eyes and nose?

I swear to God, sometimes it looks like I’ve been attacked by insects the whole night!

Some days both eyes look swollen, other days it’s just one.
(This morning it was just one…)

Some strange days I wake up with my nose all red and swollen and my mouth…
No, I don’t have a toothache and I’m not going into anaphylactic shock.
It’s just my face in the morning.

Sounds familiar ladies?

And the hair…

The hair is the worst!
Looks just like a broom!!
It’s almost something out of a horror movie!

If I went out like that on Halloween, people would actually stop me and ask where I got my custom!
It goes in all directions and has a life of its own!
Full of knots and so coarse, like a brillo pad!
God have mercy!

And the eyes…

For some mysterious reason, they are almost always glued shut and I can’t open them!
I have to blindly walk myself to the bathroom and wash my eyes with some warm running water for a few minutes before I can open them….
Then this yellow substance (pus?) starts seeping…
It’s horrendous!

How can we wake up beautiful???

I had to do something about it!

I want to wake up beautiful in the morning!

thinking womanI had to find a way to improve my appearance in the morning without having to sleep with make-up on or getting up at dawn to do my hair and face before my husband saw me…
(The man doesn’t deserve that…Trust me…)

I started doing some research on things I could do the night before to help me wake up looking beautiful…

Of course the obvious things are don’t smoke, don’t drink, don’t stay up all night.
I don’t do any of those things, except for having insomnia a few nights a month…
But then I found a few other “tricks” that we girls can do to wake up looking more beautiful and refreshed in the morning…

How to Wake Up Beautiful!

No bread, cake or cookies after 7 pm!

avoid bloatingBasically what that means is no carbs at night!

I know…
We all love those!
But eating carbs and sugar at night will make us wake up very bloated and swollen in the morning!
Trust me, I know…
Instead of bread or cookies, have a light salad or maybe an yogurt!

*What I have been trying to do lately is to avoid eating altogether after 7 pm!
This way I can guarantee that I will ‘fast’ for at least 12 hours and help my body to rest and restore overnight…
And most importantly: NOT wake up bloated!

Wash your hair every night!

Everybody knows we have to wash our faces before going to bed, but many of us skip this process am I right?
We are so tired, we just want to go to bed…

Well, I tried going to bed without washing my face one night and then washing it the following night and saw a huge difference!

I hadn’t heard of that until a few months ago…

It really helped me and my husband, especially since we have a cat and carpets in the house.

Also, if you try some meditation and just being quiet at night, before going to bed, you can slow your heart rate and give you a sense of calmness during your sleep.
You will wake up looking better because you will have slept better!

Then, instead of looking at yourself in the mirror and screaming “Yikes!!!!” you will say “Hello there beautiful me, good morning!” 🙂

Believe it or not, the sun is actually good for us!
(In moderation, of course…)
That’s how we get our vitamin D!

Staying in the the sun for 10 to 15 minutes a day, preferably before 10 am or after 4 pm, without sunscreen, will improve our immune system and help us wake up more beautiful the next morning with a “sun kissed” face! 🙂
